I don't know how this post is going to end up.

Let's get started.

I went on a date on Saturday.

It was a really good date.

Its been a while since I've been on a proper date.

Life is confusing

but isn't it always?

Yeah.

Love is confusing.

Liking people is confusing.

I don't want this to be a lovey dovey post though

so moving right along.

I finally started reading

The Fault in Our Stars.

I already love it.

Its already making me emotional.

/sigh

Things are complicated.

I'm worried about my nephew,

he isn't doing too well.

He's just a little guy.

He doesn't deserve this.

My family doesn't deserve this.

I understand that God has His plan.

I respect that.

But if He takes one more member of my family prematurely...

well I'm just not sure how I'm going to handle it.

I'm already not handling it well.

life is complicated.

I love the gospel

I'm so grateful and lucky to have it in my life.

I don't know what I'd do without it.

But,

I'm not perfect.

And I don't always understand why things happen.

I don't understand why I was bullied in school.

I don't understand why my uncle had to pass away.

I don't understand the majority of the bad things that have happened in my life have had to happen.

And this is no exception.

I don't understand it.

And honestly, it makes me angry.

It makes me so upset to think that there might be one more loss that my family has to suffer through.

I don't think its fair.

And I know life isn't fair.

And I know that we have trials for a reason.

And I know God has His plan.

I know all of that.

I believe all of that to be true.

And I'm grateful for that knowledge.

But it doesn't change that fact that right now,

I'm just kind of angry.

And I'd like that anger to go away.

I'd like to be given the ability to understand that this needs to happen even if I don't understand why it needs to happen...

Does that make sense?

I hope so.

So I feel like I should share some of the recent ongoing events of the life of me.

First off

...I haven't decided what school I want to go to.

Its incredibly frustrating.

Also, due to a recent event I may not want to move away anytime soon...

I think number 33 on my 55 facts might have been a bit premature...

and it honestly pains me to say that.

But you see there's this person,

and I'm WAY interested in them.

and they're just so charming and I'd really like to get to know them better

and I could see something happening between us...?
perhaps?
I don't know.

and that's kind of scary..

but also quite exciting..

And I just would honestly like for something to happen.

Maybe then I could stop being terrified of my exes parents.

I think it would be nice to have that type of a connection to someone again.

So could there be a new man in my life?

I don't burn candles...but I like caramel smelling things during fall.

I drink Tea everyday. But on special occasions I'll drink hot chocolate.

When I was younger and all of my sisters weren't married/in college my sisters and I used to make leaf houses, that was always fun.

Dark lips, no question. I can't do eyeliner.

Lately I've been wearing Be Enchanted by Bath and Body Works.

6. Favourite Thanksgiving food?

I really like stuffing, but my sister always makes a cheese ball for Thanksgiving and that may take the cake.

Like, stereotypical fall weather. Leaves change colour, it gets colder, lots of scarves, mittens, layering, its overcast a lot.

This one! I've lived in it.

Now to be fair, I didn't watch the AMA's but from what I've heard

they won favourite Pop/Rock album with 

"Take Me Home"

and

favourite Pop/Rock group.

Aww so proud of the boys.

They beat out Justin Timberlake and Taylor Swift for this one.

These boys have been doing quite well when it comes to awards this year

with taking homes various awards such as

best song of the summer at the VMA's

and

best pop at the EMA's

and with our very own Harry Styles snagging best look.

Today is November 25, 2013
and One Direction's newest album
Midnight Memories
has just been released.
First off
this album's sound is quite different from their previous records.
It really shows how much the boys have matured and grown as artists.
However we still have the over all pop/boy band feel mixed in with the new indie rock sound.
Meaning they're still recognizable.
Seeing as this album has JUST been released I can't give you a proper review quite yet.
We'll just make that a follow up post.
I will, however, tell you this.

14. I brush my teeth a minimum of five times a day.

24. I love the ocean. And anything Ocean/marine/nautical themed
25. Being in my room at night makes you feel like you're in a fish tank.
26. I'm afraid of the dark.
27. My favourite drink is peppermint tea with, vanilla and cinnamon.
28. Probably about 30% of my wardrobe consists of the colour mint.
29. I tend to use the British English spellings of words. (I.E. colour/color, theatre/theater, realise/realize)
30. I'm single.
31. I love having my nails painted, but rarely do it because of patience issues.
32. Being around caution cones at night gives me anxiety.
33. I can't seem to get over my ex.
34. I firmly believe in magic.
35. I get really snappy when I'm cold.
36. I have an irrational fear of other people's pain.
37. When I really like a song I will listen to it on repeat 24 hours a day, until I either hate it or find another song to replace it. I do however come back to old songs every few months and the process repeats itself.
38. This is currently happening with "Story of My Life", "Chocolate", and "the Gambler" {However, "The Gambler could be considered my favourite song.}
39. My family is so big that I don't know some of my cousins, or uncles, or..family members in general.
40. Harry Styles.
41. I LOVE Disney.
42. I love blueberry anything.
43. My favourite Disney princess is Belle.
44. I'm a dog person. No question.
45. I have wanted to take up golf since my uncle passed away last year.
46. I really like striped things.
47. I prefer cool colours. {Blue, Purple, Green, etc.}
48. My nickname is Shlie. Mostly because I hate being called Ash.
49. I love bananas.
50. my favourite brand of chapstick is EOS.
51. My favourite ride at Disneyland is Pirates of the Caribbean.
52. My favourite place in Disneyland is either New Orleans Square or Main Street.
53. Return to Pooh Corner by Kenny Loggins is a song I've loved my whole life.
54. I've never broken a bone. Which is odd because I've done just about everything else.
55. It took me over a week to come up with all of these facts.


Why are so many posts something along the lines of "This is who I am as a person!" Because I have absolutely nothing else to say. I'm not an interesting person {clearly} and I don't have a very interesting life.
Unless Isa and Emma are over then its so intersting that we should have a reality show because we are HILARIOUS.
Anyway.

Fairytaleing Prologue

 You know, I never asked to be special. I really didn't. I didn't want to be, I don't want to be. I was never one of those people. No. I didn't want that. Any of it But there comes a time in a person's life where they just have to take a step back, suck it up, and accept what fate has in store for them. Whether you liked it or not. And if we're being perfectly honest, as a general rule I didn't like it.

My name is Shaeli Homston, I'm sixteen years old, and I'm not crazy. This is not a product of night terrors or anxiety. This is just my life.

Growing up, I often wondered why I had to be so different from everyone around me. I never thought that maybe there was a reason I saw the world differently, why things happened to me and not to others. I never understood why I always had to feel like an outcast because I was somehow separated from reality. I would see things, hear things, things that would keep me up at night because I was so scared of what might happen if I closed my eyes. It was not the life that a little girl should have been leading. However, looking back, things began to make sense after a while.

I'm having a difficult time trying to explain these things without sounding like a madman. Don't try and read between the lines and take from this that I hate my life or any other nonsense, I don't. All in all I had an amazing childhood, sure my parents weren't in it, and until recently I didn't remember anything before age seven, but my grandfather loved me and I never wanted for anything. I was very fortunate. I was just troubled. But who isn't in one way or another?

Anyway, I hope this gives you a little bit of insight as to who I am, and why I am the way I am. I'll give you a fair warning:

Don't judge a book by its cover.

Because, why the heck not?

I'm thinking I'll post parts of this every now and again. This will probably be re written again sometime soon.

But for now this is the prologue of my book!! [insert cheering here]

I definitely want to add more to this.

And I probably will.
